Environmental Indicator

A quick reference for understanding the ECPonics Environmental Indicator and how its color zones relate to enclosed growing conditions.

Environmental Indicator

Designed for enclosed environments

Real-time environmental awareness

Know what your capsule is telling you

The Environmental Indicator helps you maintain stable conditions inside your capsule. Because ECPonics systems are enclosed, small temperature changes can impact plant performance faster than traditional setups.

Indicator Zones
Blue = Too cold
Green = Ideal
Yellow = Monitor
Red = Too hot

Built to work with the ECPonics Capsule system.

Understanding the Gauge

The ECPonics Environmental Indicator displays temperature ranges, not a single fixed value. As temperature changes, color bands shift gradually around the arc. The active mode card determines which ranges are acceptable.

How the Color Changes

  • The indicator reacts to ambient temperature
  • As temperatures rise or fall, colors shift gradually
  • Temperatures fall into overlapping ranges, shown as colored arcs
  • There is no simple on/off color change — transitions are smooth

Temperature Zone Guide

Each zone represents a different environmental condition inside the capsule. Use this guide to quickly understand what the current color is signaling.

Blue — Cool Range

  • Lower temperatures
  • Acceptable short-term for tissue culture starter plants
  • Too cold for active growth

Green — Moderate Range

  • Balanced temperatures
  • Commonly used for acclimation, germination, and propagation
  • Typically the most stable operating range

Yellow — Warm Range

  • Upper warmer temperatures
  • Acceptable short-term in some modes
  • Monitor closely

Red — Hot Range

  • High temperatures
  • Increased risk of dehydration and stress
  • Avoid for most modes
Active ranges may overlap slightly as temperatures transition.
